ASSET INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS

The workshop presents the Asset Information Requirements (AIR) in line with the Asset information management process, within the context of the international standard ISO 19650-3.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the workshop, the participants will be able to answer questions such as:

 

  • What is an asset?

  • Why do we need structured information to operate and maintain our assets?

  • What do we mean by Asset Information Requirements, (AIR) and how does this align with Project information requirements, PIR and Exchange Information Requirements, EIR and Organisational Information Requirements, OIR?

  • Where to start to develop Asset Information Requirements?

VIRTUAL WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

The workshop presents the importance of information in Asset management (the information value chain). It  defines the Asset and Asset Information Requirements in the context of ISO19650-3, focusing on the methodology to develop the Asset Information Requirements,AIR. 

 

Structure of the Virtual workshop:

  • 45 mins teaching

  • 30 mins exercise activity

  • 15 mins Q&A

Following the teaching session, the instructor will interact with the participants in a hands-on exercise and Q&A that will guide the audience in developing a basic set of asset information requirements through a real-life example.

WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR

The workshop is relevant to a large number of stakeholders, including:

 

  • Asset owners/operators who are responsible for operating and maintaining the as-built assets throughout the operation phase.

  • Asset/Facility managers and Asset Planners who work on behalf of the Asset Owner/Operators and lead the creation of Asset Information Requirements.

  • People working on projects - such as designers, contractors and supply chain - who need to apply the Asset  Information Requirements, AIR and understand what information they need to produce and for what purpose.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Alex Gkiokas
ALEX GKIOKAS

Alex is a chartered Civil Engineer (CEng CWEM) and Project Manager (PMP) with 12 years of water industry experience in the UK, Middle East and South-East Europe. Alex has got a broad understanding of the project lifecycle and asset management. In addition to traditional water investment planning and design experience, he has developed expertise in digital applications which facilitate the digital transformation of the civil infrastructure space and drive data-based decision making across the whole lifecycle.

 

Alex currently works (on behalf of Mott MacDonald Bentley) as the Asset information manager in Anglian Water's Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). He is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the SPA Asset Information Management System, a critical component of the programme's Common Data Environment (CDE) and digital twin.
