BIM FOUNDATIONS COURSE
The BIM Foundations course provides a detailed overview of the concepts and principles of information management in line with the international standard ISO 19650 and provides in depth insights into the requirements to achieving ISO 19650 compliance in BIM projects. It covers the evolution from BIM Level 2 to ISO 19650 and identifies the key components that support information management for the project delivery phase in line with ISO 19650-2, with a reference to the UK BIM standards.
Understand the effect of digital transformation and recognize BIM global adoption.
Understand the evolution of BIM maturity levels to stages, from the UK's BIM Level 2 to the international ISO 19650 standards, illustrating how the former influenced the latter.
Define BIM, understand the concept behind the BIM acronym, identify BIM benefits for industry professionals, and BIM implementation and requirements.
Understand BIM as a technology, identify open BIM and exchange standards and work with BIM uses.
Identify ISO 19650 BIM terminology, concepts, and principles, and acquire a detailed understanding of the requirements for an ISO 19650 BIM-compliant project, including information requirements, stages, activities and functions.
Learn about the Standards Methods and procedures, the structure of the Common Data Environment, CDE, the creation of a Federation strategy, the LOD definitions, the Level of Information Need, and the different BIM roles and responsibilities in the industry.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY
I completed the BIM Foundations followed by BIM Information Management course and I found them excellent courses, especially helping me to ‘bridge my knowledge gap’ between the old PAS standard and the new ISO standard. I thought the courses was very well laid out to help me consume and assimilate this complex subject.
